How to get at Library card

New borrower? Start using our digital services immediately.

The Library card is free and is valid at all public libraries in Norrbotten. When you have filled out your application digitally, you can e.g. start downloading e-books. 
You must get your library card at the library within 30 days if you want to continue using our services in full. Bring your ID-card. If you do not have a Swedish social security number (personnummer), or do not have a complete address, you cannot fill out the form. 

When can't I fill out a digital library card application?

• If you already have a library card, and that card is still registered.
• If you do not have a complete social security number.
• If you are under18 years of age, see information below.
• If you are a teacher and want a library card to use in your professional capacity.

Processing of personal data

The following municipalities are part of the collaboration; Arjeplog, Arvidsjaur, Boden, Gällivare, Haparanda, Jokkmokk, Kalix, Kiruna, Luleå, Pajala, Piteå, Älvsbyn, Överkalix and Övertorneå.
When applying for a library card, you agree that your name, social security number, address, telephone number and email address are registered and stored in our library data system.  We also record loans, reservations and return dates. 
Details of the loans will be deleted upon return. We need the personal data in order to make it possible for you to borrow and reserve books The libraries in Norrbotten do not disclose your information.

To complete a digital library card application, you must be 18 years of age or over.

    New borrower under the age of 18?

    Guardians must sign a library card application for children and young persons under the age of 18. There are two ways to do this:
    • visit a library and fill out a library card application there
    • download and fill out the library card application at home, print and bring it to the library.
